Traveling with family? The Club Lounge might make sense for a family-friendly budget. Located on the eighth floor, the Club Lounge is open for continental breakfast from 6-9 a.m. and 5-8 p.m. for cocktails and snacks. I managed to slip into the Club Lounge for a breakfast of juice, fruit, yogurt and a toasted bagel on my last day in Albuquerque. The Club Lounge offers a view of the Sandia Mountains.

Albuquerque Restaurants

This was my first time to Albuquerque and this town knows how to eat.  To experience New Mexico cuisine, I recommend El Pinto Restaurant – the guacamole and house made salsa are delicious. If you like tequila, try the El Tesoro Platinum de Don Felipe. Looking for northern Italian food? Scalo Northern Italian Grill is located in the Uptown area and has a wide ranging menu with reasonable prices. I ordered the house made lobster ravioli. Save room for the locally made gelato. For the meat eaters in the group, head on over to The County Line for bar-b-que, fresh baked bread and mashed potatoes. Live music and killer desserts will keep your foot tapping at The County Line in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

International Balloon Fiesta

If you are planning to experience the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico, make your hotel reservations in advance of the October event. Tom Rutherford helped launch the International Balloon Fiesta back in 1972 and he is still very much involved in hot air balloons.
