Let the pampering begin at Hotel Yountville
Napa Valley wine country is chic and hip; trend-setting and delicious. It’s enough to make foodies and wine geeks default to sensory over-load. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and be pampered, I have a tip for you – book a room at Hotel Yountville in Northern California’s wine country.
King or Queen for the night at Hotel Yountville
Not only will you feel like king or queen for the day (and night), you’re body will thank you for the pampering. That is if you book an appointment at Spa AcQua upon check in, or earlier if someone else is in charge of your wine country getaway. I indulged in the 75 minute Spa Acqua Signature massage, incorporating hot stones and Thai stretches. After the massage, I floated back to my premium suite, #9320, with thoughts of getting some writing done. While internet access is complimentary, the room is not set up for the business traveler – this place, with four poster king beds and in room fireplaces, is all about unwrapping the uptight. Fortunately, I was too relaxed to work and wisely opted to go-with-the-flow and soak in the two-person spa tub, complete with lavender bath salts.
Having recharged from my spa treatment I wondered back to the lobby to join Hotel Yountville guests in the 5-6 p.m. wine and cheese reception featuring local Napa Valley vintners. Held Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Page Cellars was pouring their high-end Stash wine on my visit. The winery has a tasting room in Yountville. Hotel guests varied from Houston, Texas newbies to Napa Valley to return hotel guests from Walnut Creek, California.
Wine Country Casual Elegance
The lobby features an inviting common area with a fireplace for gathering in the fall and winter. On my spring visit, I appreciated the lemon flavored water on tap available to guests. If you are planning a wine country day trip, cozy up on the sofa with one of Hotel Yountville’s complimentary iPads to map your outing, or ask one of the staff for personal recommendations. If that sounds too complicated, grab a complimentary cruiser from the front of the hotel and bicycle your way around the charming town of Yountville.
Insider Tip:
If you are a fan of Eggs Benedict, you simply MUST ORDER the Hopper Creek Kitchen Benedict – my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
